Reframing the Slave Ship's Hold as a site of resilience deeply embedded in the human spirit, the work comprises twenty-nine larger-than-life-size, floor-mounted photographs that evoke the spatial arrangement of enslaved bodies within a ship’s hull. Through subtle, restrained body movements and gestures, she conjures a space for reflection. Visitors were invited to remove their shoes before entering the gallery, fostering a tactile and contemplative encounter with the work’s historical weight.
