The Blackness Series is an ongoing series of numbered text works that commenced in 2016 and continues to date, documenting historical and contemporary Black-lived experiences alongside broader critical social commentary.

Rendered as black typeface on a black background, the works are intentionally difficult to read. This formal strategy foregrounds the tension Black communities are often held within—between hypervisibility and invisibility. The text becomes fully legible only as light reflects across the surface, whether encountered on screen or in person.
